Welcome to Cook Eat Laugh!!
Hi, I am Surati, I am the content creator, recipe developer, and amateur food photographer behind cookeatlaugh. The inspiration for this blog originated from my love for everything food. I have always loved being in the kitchen, it is a place where I feel absolute joy and have the most patience.
My passion for food first sparked in my grandmother’s kitchen in India. As a child, watching her cook and bake delicious cakes on game nights, lured me into the art of cooking. Also, I was born into a big multi-cultural foodie family where I was constantly fed and surrounded by delicious food. I was exposed to many different techniques of cooking and always inspired to cook food from scratch by both my parents who are exceptional cooks.
Furthermore, I have been given the tremendous opportunity to travel around the world and try different cuisines. I have a lot of family and friends overseas who have been gracious enough to invite me into their loving homes and feed me delightful home cooking that just nourishes your soul. Dramatic I know, but really there is nothing like home cooking.
My philosophy behind cooking is to always try. Cooking is not hard, it just requires a bit of patience, love, and practice. The process of cooking sometimes results in a dish that people only eat to be polite, but I always say have a laugh and keep cooking.
So, I have always loved food blogs and creating my very own has been a dream of mine for forever. I have started the journey of creating a blog many times, but would always give up. So, this year I decided to let go and have fun, so here I am with my very own blog. AHH !!!! I can’t believe it’s live.
The recipes I share here are will always be from scratch and sometimes a bit time consuming, but not hard. I love to travel and explore different cuisines and re-create them for you here. Also, on this site, you can find reviews of my favorite cook books, my pantry items, and other food related topics.
Thank you for coming and hope you feel inspired to Cook, Eat & Laugh.
